Well hello there!
If you are reading the post in this particular category, you must be a home based business owner!
I just want to let every home based business owner know that I am constantly accepting fillers.
I do have some guidelines and limitations though. They are as follow:
NO ADULT COMPANIES~ I will only accept family friendly fillers. If you send me adult company fillers, they will be thrown away
NOTHING LARGER THAN A SMALL POST CARD (LIKE THE SMALL POST CARDS YOU GET FROM VISTAPRINT)~ If they are larger than that size, I will throw them away. I do not have big enough bags for anything larger than that, and do not have the time to fold them down to size.
NO DISCOVERY TOYS FILLERS~ that is the company I do obviously
FILLERS NEED TO HAVE EITHER A SAMPLE OR GOODIE TREAT ATTACHED~ this is the BEST way to get your business noticed over all the other fillers in a bag. Someone is more likely to place an order with you if you attach a sample to your business card or post card… or even a piece of candy! Plus, I love to hand out “goodie bags” as opposed to “advertisement bags”. So, send me your samples and fillers! You can even send me pens, pencils, or something like that. Get creative! The more creative, the better!
If you have fillers that you would like to send, please send them to:

DO NOT SEND ME JUST ONE CATALOG TO MY ADDRESS AS AN ADVERTISEMENT. IF THIS HAPPENS, YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO CONSULTANT CHECK YAHOO GROUP FOR SPAM. I AM NOT ASKING FOR A CATALOG FROM A TON OF DIFFERENT COMPANIES, I AM ASKING FOR FILLERS. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT A FILLER IS, FEEL FREE TO LEAVE A COMMENT AND ASK. I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU.
Check back soon! I have lots of ideas and things to post here to help all my fellow WAHM’s gain more exposure, etc!

Marketing tip #1:
This is something that has helped me to get some phone calls about various businesses that I have worked with. Drop business cards! Now, depending on what type of business you are in will depend on what kind of places you would want to drop them. I work with childrens toys, so, I personally put my business cards inside NEW diaper bag pockets, inside those boxes of baby wipes (the big boxes lol), and sometimes I will shimmy them into the tiny openings of toy boxes. Most times, the person purchasing these items wont find the business cards in there until after they have already purchased the bag/toy/box and get it home and opened!
You can take this idea one step further. When you are out and about with your children, whether it is shopping at a mall, going to the park, or attending a play group, leave your business cards! You can put a business card at one or two of the benches inside the mall, also hit up the bathroom to “wash your hands” and “accidentally” leave a biz card on the counter or sink area where people will see them. While at the park or at playgroups, when you are sitting down at the picnic table watching your children play, leave a catalog, flyer, or business card!
Marketing Tip #2
As I was surfing the net today, I came across this really cool website http://www.mymommybiz.com/party/marketing/readyourcatalogs.html
On the website, it had a great tip on how to gain new customers for FREE! All you have to do is keep your catalogs on hand at ALL times! Pull it out and read it anytime you are waiting in line somewhere; the bank, kid’s school, doctor’s office, etc… and keep an eye out for someone who is peeping over your shoulder to look at your catalog too! When you see them, turn around and say something like ” Oh! I just got my new_____________ catalog today! Would you like to look?” As they are browsing, simply and casually tell them that you are a rep with that company and if they have any questions or would like to place an order, feel free to contact you. Make sure they know that your contact information is on the back of the catalog! This is such a great idea, I am going to try it out over the next month or so while I am out and about at different places and see how it goes!

Marketing Tip #4
Start a blog! Put good, useful information on your blog, relating to your business. How do your products help others? What are some of the positive things your products do? Why do people like your products? Once you have a blog started, blogroll with as many other bloggers as you can! Great FREE advertising! And, if you can, submit your blog URL to search engines! You can do this for free many times. You might be surprised at how a simple blog can help your business. Ya never know who might contact you about your products, services, or business opportunity! There is a small button on my blog where you can submit your blog or website to SEVERAL search engines all at one time for free!

Marketing Tip #5
Tell your friends on your YIM, AIM, and MSN buddy list about your business, opportunity, sales, and specials! Don’t do this TOO much though, as it may annoy some people and cause them to ask to be removed as a friend! Remember, friendship first!
You never know when someone on your friends list might want or need something that your company offers, so, don’t exclude them from your awsome sales!
Create multiple categories in your friends list FIRST. Then, send an IM blast asking who would like periodic updates about sales and promotions that you or your company offers. Put those that would like to stay updated on your companies sales and promotions in one category, and those who do not, into another category. This makes it easier for you to keep track of things, and shows your friends that you are considerate of their feelings. This helps prevent them from reporting you as a *SPAMMER*
Marketing Tip #6

Marketing Tip #8
Internet Advertising:
Be sure to CONTINUALLY post internet ads to as many ad places as you possibly can! Not only will this help you to increase your site hit counts, but it can also help you to increase your sales! Here are a few sites you might find interesting… but remember, I am always adding to this list:

Marketing Tip #9:
Consistantly submit your website to FREE Search Engine Submission sites! Whether it is your blog site, or your business site, this is a great way for people to come across your website when they are looking for something you are offering, whether it is your products, your hostess program, or your business opportunity! Word of advice:: submit your link to these FREE search engine submission sites AT LEAST once a month to ensure your website doesn’t “fall behind” in the search engine ranks. Search engines spiders will crawl the content of your website and when someone does a search for something relevant to your website content. Then, when someone does a search for something relevant to the content on your website, your site will be listed! This will increase the hit count to your website! Awsome, huh?! Just in February 2009, my Discovery Toys website received over 300 hits from Feb 1st through 28th. And, I only submitted my site to free search engine submission sites one time! Did the time I took to submit it to the search engine submission sites pay off? YES! Not only did it inprove my hit count on my DT site… but it also helped someone to reach me about my company’s business opportunity!
Marketing Tip #10:
Facebook can be your absolute best friend… if you let it! Did you know that network marketing sites like Facebook, MySpace, Craigslist, Ning groups, etc. can actually HELP your business? It can! I can’t tell you how many time I have used even just a few of these sites and go great results! Even just simple status posts can be enough to attract new customers, new hostesses, or even new business partners! You don’t want to bombard your friends with ad after ad after ad on these sites, or with your status messages on them, but you can occationally just mention that you or your business is doing a special, a promotion, you have new catalogs availale, a new recruiting promotion, etc. This is a great, non-pushy way to share your excitement about new and great things with your business with your friends, and peak their interest in what you and your business offers!
Marketing Tip #11:
Do you do online advertising? Have you ever thought about doing link exchanges… or something I like even better, button/banner exchanges? Button/banner exchanges works the same as a link exchange, where you ask someone to put your button or banner on their website and link it to your business site or blog, in exchange, you do the same for them. MOST times, this is free, and it helps both of you reach prospective customers/business partners you normally may not be able to reach!
Don’t have a button or banner for your website? You can have one made! Below are a few friends of mine who make custom buttons and banners for a small fee. These are all also Work At Home Moms!:
